1 Litre Cromar Roofing Felt Adhesive
WE'RE SORRY BUT WE CAN'T CURRENTLY SHIP THIS PRODUCT OUTSIDE OF THE NORTHWEST.
A solvent based cold applied bituminous adhesive for bonding successive layers of roofing felt. Porous surfaces should be treated with a coating of Bitumen Primer and allowed to dry thoroughly. Allow adhesive to develop a tacky surface before overlaying with felt (approximately 15 minutes to 1 hour, however this is totally dependant on weather conditions). NB - If the felt is applied too soon, the drying time of the adhesive will be extended. After laying the felt, it should be rolled immediately to expel any trapped air. When felting upstands, adhesive should be applied to both substrate and felt. Timber roofs should have the first layer of felt nailed down in accordance with BS Code of Practice 144, part 3 and the following layers bonded with Cromar Roofing Felt Adhesive as described. Cromar Roofing Felt Adhesive can be used to bond overlaps on single layer felt installations that are nailed to timber substrates. Ensure area to form lap is completely coated with adhesive and press firmly together to expel entrapped air when it becomes tacky. The lap should then be nailed with galvanised clout head nails to ensure a secure bond. Coverage depends on the porosity of the surface being treated. However, guideline coverage rates are as follows: FELT ADHESIVE - 1 litre per 0.25 m2 to 1 litre per 2 m2. LAPS ONLY 1 litre per 20 linear metres of 75mm wide overlap. Drying times will vary depending on weather conditions, film thickness and the time allowed for a tack to develop. Heavy applications will result in extended drying times. After use, replace lid firmly and shake to ensure an airtight seal. Shelf life is indefinite if the conatainer is kept sealed and is stored in a dry area at temperatures between 8oC and 25oC.
